Currency Online with its online focus doesn't carry the overheads associated with more traditional companies and methods. Because you do the legwork, and complete your requirements via our online platform, we can keep the costs low. This saves us money which we pass on to you in the form of better rates and lower fees.

This doesn't mean we compromise on service. In fact, not only will you have 24/7 online access, you also have the support of our help desk between the hours of 7am and 8pm NZT, Monday to Friday.

Currency Online follows best practice compliance guidelines including anti-money laundering, counter terrorism financing, staff training and risk management procedures to ensure your money is safe and secure. Furthermore all client money is held in segregated security trust accounts held by a trustee, in favour of its clients, for money received or paid to Currency Online for FX transaction.

OUR HISTORY

Currency Online Ltd (previously Elldridge Lynch & Associates Ltd) was founded in 1986 primarily servicing the foreign exchange needs to the automotive industry in New Zealand. Since then Currency Online Ltd has grown to major international payments brand servicing both private and corporate clients across the globe.

In October 2008 the HiFX Group acquired Currency Online Limited and its online deliverable foreign exchange platform DFX. The DFX online platform has become the backbone of the HiFX group's online services products. Originally situated in Christchurch, New Zealand Currency Online Ltd's operation moved to Auckland following the Christchurch earthquakes in 2011. On 1 April 2013 the Currency Online brand was transferred to its parent company (HiFX Limited) so Currency Online's clients' could benefit from HiFX's continued investment in its online transactional platform.

In May 2014 the HiFX Group was acquired by Euronet Worldwide Inc. a global provider of electronic payment and transaction processing solutions for financial institutions, retailers, service providers and individual consumers. Listed on the Nasdaq (EEFT) Euronet has a market capitalisation in excess of USD$3.5b. This acquisition ensures that Currency Online will continue to deliver an exceptional service to its clients along with an increased capability to deliver new features and benefits in the coming years.

Currency Online has been a technology leader in the money transfer industry since the business started in 1986 delivering one of the world's first online money transfer platforms in 1997.

Through its parent company, HiFX Limited, we have continued to develop our technology in-house, ensuring clients enjoy a simple and efficient experience when transferring funds anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.

Our system incorporates a world class CRM program and has straight through processing capability that keeps our costs as low as possible enabling us to provide better exchange rates to our customers.

Not happy with simply being one of the first global online service providers, Currency Online and HiFX continue today to evolve and innovate the platform ensuring we are at the forefront of the online FX service market. We have software developers located in both Australasia and the United Kingdom who are constantly upgrading and programming new system developments and initiatives. Dan brings over 10 years of banking and financial markets experience to his role with the HiFX Group and Currency Online. Dan leads a team of sales professionals and is also the primary contact for the groups strategic partnerships in the region. His team work with businesses of all sizes to help them get the best deal and service on their foreign exchange and international payments.

Leisa Clifton

Operations Manager

Leisa has been with the HiFX Group in Australasia since its inception in 2001 and heads the Back Office team ensuring all settlement of contracts are delivered accurately and on time. She has 25 years experience in Treasury Settlements and International Payments both in NZ and the UK and has extensive knowledge of both FX and Payment products. Leisa strives to deliver the best customer service and FX Settlement service possible.
